Forging for the Automotive industry

2023-09-02

Forging is a manufacturing process that uses compression forces to form metal. Cars still rely on steel forged car parts, which are still an integral part of current car designs, both for small volume and mass market models. Cars and trucks may contain more than 250 forgings, most of which are made of carbon or alloy steel.

The forging process can create parts that are stronger than those made by any other metalworking process, which is why forgings are almost always used where reliability and personal safety are critical.

Forged parts are usually found at impact and stress points, such as axle, kingpin, beam and shaft, and steering arm. Another common application is in power systems, where links, drive shafts and gears, drive shafts, clutch hubs and universals are usually forged. Forged parts are characterized by strength, reliability and economy, making them ideal for the automotive industry.

Maple manufactures components for the automotive industry and its Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.

We supply the truck and bus, racing, classic, defense, off-highway and specialty vehicle markets, and our products include the following, all of which are manufactured for safety-critical applications;

· small hinge

Upset drive shaft

·  steering arm

·  crankshaft

·  wishbone

·  stub axis

connecting rod

In almost all of these applications, product simulation plays an important role in analyzing grain flow, where strength and lifetime are critical. All of our auto parts undergo 100% crack detection testing prior to final approval. We carry out post-forging machining to strict standards, so we can supply our customers with components ready for final machining and gear cutting.

Our skilled employees have been producing high quality forgings for more than a century, building Maple's reputation as a market leader and working with a global network of customers. From our coastal factory in Ningbo, China, we offer a complete service including design, die and tool manufacturing, forging, machining, heat treatment and transportation, with weights up to 50 kg.

As experts in this field, we can provide the following services:

Forging capacity from 0KG to 50KG. Small and medium batches of various metal grades .Create custom molds and store them for repeat orders
